Here are some shots of my latest (10-02-06)
Crutch Lap Steel. It is for sale, on consignment at
Divine Appointment
Guitars . If you stop by their web site or their store,
please let them know I
sent ya.

This is a side view of the sound box/resonator.
It is made from the cooking pot of a really cheap
mess kit I bought at a yard sale. The top of the
pot is used to hold the bridge, a 3" piece of
threaded stock. The cover over the strings is
made from the lid of a small metal cigar box
and is supported by two picture hanger
brackets that I adapted.
The pickup, inside the cooking pot, is a
3" rectangular speaker, hard-wired to
a 1/4" plug. The tuners are inline
standared tuners I bought used.
You can also see the hand twisted horse hair fret
markers from the side.
And here is an example of the other end of the guitar. The
tailpiece is made from 2 three hole hinges. The nut is an old,
dull gromet punch I had laying around. For the
lighter gauage strings, I had to use a washer to hold them in place.
