As with most of the pages on this site, this page will always be UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Here are links to pages that tell about some of the people and places that influenced me:

The Garret

THE GARRET - The first coffee house I ever went to.                                                                                                The Troubadour
The co-owner and performer was a folk singer named
Terrea Lea
I started going there in '63, and it was there that I learned
a lot about playing guitar.  Between Terrea's sets, people
would bring out their instruments and play, swap licks and
help out those, like me, who were eager to learn.

THE TROUBADOUR -  I saw such performers
as Hoyt Axton, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Judy Henske
and Josh White, to name a few.

The Shrine Auditorium
THE SHRINE AUDITORIUM (LOS ANGELES) - On September 17, 1966, 3 days before my friend Steve and I were to report
for duty after being drafted, we Freak Outheaded to the Shrine for a concert.  This concert was called "Freak Out", and it was on the night
before LSD became illegal.
Given this, you can guess as to our condition.  It was also the the first of the three times I saw Frank Zappa in concert.

Map of Vietnam

VIETNAM -
Here is a place that had a very great impact on my life, one I am still feeling today.

This map of Vietnam will link you to my Nam page.
